the evolution of chrino (curtis reinhardtsen)

I was born a baby.
Ok, I won’t go that far back.
I graduated from Grace Christian Academy (high school) in ’05 and from Waukesha County Technical College in ’07 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Design. I’ve lived in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area for my whole life (and yes, I love cheese).
Designing has always been a favorite hobby of mine, constructing anything from lincoln log cabins to websites. When I’m not designing and dabbling in other computer nerdery, I enjoy playing football, basketball, soccer…pretty much any sports.
My design career began in the spring of 2006. I was finishing up my first year of college and was hired by Sterling Commerce Group as an in-house graphic and web designer. My duties included creating graphics for the main sales website and designing logos and identity packages for new business ventures. I also built a complete Flash website, something I would not recommend for anyone.
Through the fall/winter of ’06-’07, I picked up some freelance website projects that complimented my second year of college nicely, and contributed greatly to my development as a designer.
Upon graduation, I began employment at Champion Brick. I enjoyed my time here because I was able to mix good ol’ manual labor with design work, from brochure creation to website development. I also re-designed the logo and implemented it into various products.
In June of 2008, I joined the team of Milwaukee-area startup Tazinos Pizza & Salad Bistro as the Web Designer / IT Coordinator. I handled Tazinos’ online presence, constructed the website, and assisted with various visual and IT projects. In the summer of 2009, I enveloped all of the visual branding duties, including promotional materials, identity packages, website design and maintenance, advertising and marketing pieces, and miscellaneous graphics.
I have done a bit of freelancing (see my portfolio), and am a volunteer designer for The Ridge Community Church in Greenfield, WI. I handle much of the series graphics and other various design needs (see a selection of them in my blog).
